Built on an ancient beacon site, Broadway Tower has a colourful history as - amongst others - home to the renowned printing press of Sir Thomas Phillips and country retreat for pre-Raphaelite artists, notably the artist, designer, writer, craftsman, and socialist William Morris. Windsor Castle is the chief residence of English rulers since William I. The castle was improved and rebuilt by several sovereigns. Part of the castle was severely damaged by fire in 1992
